Customer Boarding

  • Minimum crew on A/C

  • Evenly distributed throughout cabin, assisting with boarding

  • Lights on Bright during boarding

  • Boarding announcement (repeated during boarding)

  • Monitor COB for proper storage, assist customers, close bins as they fill

Prior to Door Closure

  • B F/A brief exit row occupants

  • Report to A F/A that briefing is complete

  • Preparation for Door Closure Announcement as customer boarding flow subsides (approx. 10 min to departure)

  • A F/A announces "Flight Attendants, ready the cabin for door closure"<br>F/A's verify:

  • All customers seated with seat belts fastened

  • Lavs checked for occupants, flushed and locked

  • Seat backs up, tray tables up, aisle armrests down, bags stowed

  • Portable electronic equipment turned off and stowed

  • Galleys secured, bins/closets closed and latched, curtains secured

  • Aft F/As announce, "Aft cabin ready for door closure"

(You won't be able to observe the closing and arming of doors)

Prior to Pushback

  • A F/A announces "Prepare for departure and crosscheck"

  • F/As announce, "Aft crosscheck complete"

  • A F/A silently shuts F/D door

Prior to Takeoff

  • Safety Demonstration & Announcements appropriate for A/C

  • Spanish announcement, if applicable

  • Verify continued compliance during walk to jumpseat

  • Lights OFF at takeoff

  • As soon as safety related duties are completed F/A take their jumpseats immediately

  • F/D announces, "F/As should now be seated for takeoff"

  • Inform pilots only if not seated

In-Flight

  • 10,000 foot announcement

  • Seat belt sign OFF announcement

  • Service Announcements

  • Seat belt sign ON Announcement (as needed)

  • F/A walkthrough for seat belt compliance when safe to do so

  • F/D security procedures

  • Regular cabin walkthrough (at least once every 15 minutes)

Top of Descent

  • 18,000 foot announcement - F/D announces "F/As please prepare cabin for arrival"

  • F/As make electronic/wi-fi announcement

  • A F/A makes 10,000 foot announcement 5 minutes after F/D 18,000 foot announcement or at double chimes (secure cabin)

  • Being stowing portable electronic devices

Prior to Landing

  • Lights to Bright

  • All F/As verify (walkthrough):<br>All customers seated with seat belts fastened

  • Seat backs and tray tables up aisle armrests dow, bags stowed

  • Portable electronic devices off and stowed

  • Bins and closets closed and latched, curtains secured

  • Collect used newspapers, recyclables, and other disposables

  • Lavs checked for occupants, flushed and locked

  • Lights OFF prior to landing

Taxi In/At the Gate

  • Arrival/Thank You Announcement

  • Monitor customers remain seated, carry-on baggage stowed

  • Remain secured in jumpseat until seat belt sign is off (unless performing safety related duties, or aiding distressed passenger)

  • A F/A announces, "Prepare doors for arrival and crosscheck"

  • Aft F/As announce, "Aft crosscheck complete"

  • Lights on Bright

Deplaning

  • Minimum crew for deplaning

  • Prior to leaving A/C, B & C F/As will verify:<br>Aft doors are disarmed

  • Lavatory doors are unlocked and lavs are empty

  • All rows are empty and customers have deplaned

  • A (&D) F/As stay on A/C until B and C F/As reported

  • B & C F/As report "Aft cabin check complete"
