  • What is a definition of a Hazard?

  • Definition-Something or some situation with the potential to cause harm.

  • What is a definition of a incident?

  • Incident-An event resulting in a physical injury ,psychological injury, near miss or object or property damage.

  • What do you do if you see/identify a hazard?

  • Isolate the risk if safe ,report it to the duty manager and/or log it in safe work

  • Demonstrate and talk through the safe reach method ?

  • LOOK FOR:
    -Work in target zone
    -elbows kept close to side at all times
    -Stand directly in front of product never to the side
    -Elbows pointing to the ground
    -Brace your stomach
    -Avoid twisting and over reaching
    -Use ladder or step for high objects
    -Keep load close to body

  • Explain the buddy lift method?

  • LOOK FOR:
    -Buddy lift used for 20kg+
    -uses the safe lift technique
    -Agrees verbally when to lift and put down objects eg: 1,2,3 lift/down

  • What do you do if you are unsure about a hazard that may be unsafe?
