Before Opening

Poolside

  • Are the Torpedo buoys in position?

  • Are the pocket masks present and in the correct position?<br>1 Control Point<br>2 Flume<br>3 Poolside

  • Is the spine (aqua) board in place poolside on the wall prepared and ready for use?

  • Isthe lifeguard chair in full working order and safe to use?

  • Is the safety signs clearly visible and in position specifically depth and no diving?

  • Flush & pre-cleanse showers in the wet changing area.

Health suit

  • Open the doors to the suit and turn lights on.

  • Close the sauna door

  • Ensure the sauna is switched on in the plant room and the correct temperature set.

  • Is the ISRM safety poster in position?

  • Flush & pre-cleanse showers.

General

  • Are Fire doors, Fire exits and routes working correctly and free from obstruction and rubbish?

  • Poolside lifeguard and the Manager on Duty have working and tested radio's

  • Door to the plant room is closed and locked.

  • Ensure staffing in all areas. (if short please document)

  • Are the pool & spa water readings within set parameters?

  • Is the rear entrance gate unlocked and the padlock stored in the managers office?

  • Does every area have 'evacuation zone cards' in place. If not please document.

  • Is the lift alarm working and has it been tested?

  • Is both caps on the pool vacuum outlet in place and secured?

  • Check the fire alarm panel for any faults or lights, take immediate remedial action if there is a fault. <br>(please document any faults)

  • If there are any accident forms , has the manager on duty followed up with a customer care call? <br>(please document outcome)

  • Is the condition of the Anti wave lane trolley in good working order and is fully serviceable.

  • Has the Customer comments box been emptied ?

  • Has the utilities readings been done?

  • Are all public area fire extinguishers in the correct positions and are they fully operational?

  • Do all phones have a clipboard and pen with an enquiry form available?

  • Has the computer back up tape been changed over.

  • Is the disabled changing hoist, chair, bed etc present and in full working order?

  • Has the defibrillator been checked and all contents present?

  • Are baby chairs stable and clean? Are the safety straps secure and working without any cursor rips?

  • AM shift - Has a check been completed in all areas for cleanliness?

  • PM shift - Has a check been completed in all areas for cleanliness?

  • Has the flume and toddler flume been checked for safety and fully operational and are they safe?

Weekly tests

  • Monday - X1 fire alarm call point and X1 sounder to be tested and recorded in manual C section 13

  • Monday - Fire exits and doors checked and signed off in Manual C section 12

  • Monday - Fire extinguishers checked and signed off in Manual C section 16

  • Monday - Complete a visual inspection of the village cubicles. Report any problems and fill in holes. Complete the maintenance checklist.

  • Monday - test all Reacom and disabled facility alarms.

  • Monday - carry out an external visual check of the building within the red boundary lines including pathways and general building structures.

  • Tuesdays - check to ensure pool steps are secured including handrails.

  • Tuesday's - check that all wheelchairs are serviceable.

  • Wednesday - Clean the pool bottom ensuring all dirt is used into circulation drains

  • Wednesday - check to ensure terrace chairs and tables are safe and secure. Remove all unserviceable items from poolside.

  • Thursday - plant room checks are completed and recorded.

  • Thursday - Ensure first aid box is full and room is sufficiently socked.

  • Friday - Complete a visual inspection of the village cubicles. Report any problems and fill in holes. Complete the maintenance checklist.

  • Friday - check to see the walk in freezer exit button works correctly ( use two people for this check)

  • Saturday - plant room checks are completed and recorded.

  • Do a visual check of the beach terrace grill area to ensure it is lean & tidy

  • Sunday - plant room checks are completed and recorded.

  • Check the contents of the SIMP box located at reception

  • Name of manager.
