• Are the anti-slip feet on metal and fibreglass ladders / Stepladders in place, undamaged and not unduly worn ?

  • Are the feet free from items such as stones, grease, dirt preventing the equipment from making direct contact with the ground?

  • Are the rungs, stiles or platform free from mud, grease, oil, paint, cracks or warped ?

  • Are the screw fittings, hinges or rivets worn or corroded ?

  • Are the stiles (uprights) in good condition. Not painted, split, cracked, bent, notches missing screws loose

  • If the ladder or step ladder has extension blocks, are these in good working order fitted and positioned correctly?

  • Is the equipment free from corrosion, sharp edges or dents ?

  • When set up is the equipment in correct alignment ?

  • Does the equipment have the correct CE marking and manufacture visible ?

  • Is the equipment tagged identifying last / next Inspection?

  • Is the locking mechanism on the Step Ladder locking correctly ?

  • Is the equipment fit for purpose and safe to use ?
