Handover Checklist

  • Plaster work is smooth, even and free from rough areas, bumps, cracks, and is neatly finished around sockets, switches, and corners.

  • All paintwork is completed and free from blemishes and chips.

  • All surfaces are clean and free from cracks and scratches.

  • Wall tiling is fully grouted and neatly finished between tiles and around sockets.

  • Flooring is laid level and free of unevenness.

  • Worktop, sink, and taps sealed properly.

  • All units and worktops are fixed properly and free from damage.

  • All kitchen unit drawers and doors operate correctly.

  • Wall units and base cabinets are level and doors are correctly.

  • Water flows to sink tap correctly.

  • No leaks in pipes or underneath sink.

  • Under sink unit has been sealed.

  • Sink is free from dents and scratches.

  • Extractor fan works properly and is fitted correctly.

  • Glazing is free from cracks, scratches, and paint splashes.

  • Check cupboards have shelving.

  • Cooker has a cooker chain.

  • Check joints in worktop are not raised or chipped.

  • New light fitting installed and correctly working. All lights turn on and off.

  • Sockets and outlets are working.

  • Sockets are secure and level.

  • Smoke alarms are working.

  • Sure, switch working (stop tap).

  • If the boiler is in a cupboard, is their sufficient clearance and ventilation.

  • Check behind plinth for debris.

  • Have plumbing connections been provided within a base unit from future connections.

  • Check stop cock is labelled.

  • Is the wall tiling set out correctly with even cuts at ends and any borders sensibly positioned.

  • Are the holes for pipework and cables cut neatly and without damage to the units.
