Electrical Safety

  • Are electrical equipment and/or cables tested and tagged to comply with AS/NZS 3760 In-service Safety Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment?

Motor Vehicle Displays

  • Do they have a 2.3kg ABE type fire extinguisher and a drip tray?

Stand Design / Layout

  • Are all stands inside their allocated space (not encroaching aisle)?

  • If a stand has as roof greater than 3m in any direction, does it have a 2.3kg A:B(E) type fire extinguisher and smoke detector?

  • Are all leads safe (not a trip hazard)?

  • For any 2 storey or a steel structure an engineering certificate is required. Has one been given to MCEC Operations?

Theatre / seminar areas

  • Are seats tied together?

  • Is there adequate egress space and emergency exits?

Smoke detector isolations / fire wardens

  • If there any stands that require the smoke detectors to be isolated has this been arranged? Has a fire warden been booked?

Temporary exit signs

  • Have temporary exit signs been installed by a qualified person? Check theatre / seminar areas as well as the show floor.

Egress path

  • Are the paths of travel to exits free of obstructions?

Miscellaneous

  • Do the above questions cover all issues? If not, list them below.

Client Sign Off

  • A final inspection of the exhibition will be conducted one hour before the show is due to open.
    Noting these comments, I assure the MCEC that the above listed event is in accordance with the submitted Safety Plan and all other relevant points in the MCEC Operations Manual and License Agreement.
