Mobile Tower Transportation Survey

  • Safety is the most important reason you inspect your vehicle - for both yourself and for the protection of the surrounding public. Please be sure you’ve identified and mitigated all potential risks, and you are healthy and fit for driving duty.

Inspection Survey (Completed Prior to Transport)

  • Hitch pin is in place and tether is connected.

  • All safety chains are in place and crossed underneath tongue.

  • Chains are fastened securely to the trailer.

  • Breakaway battery is fully charged.

  • Battery block mount, lid, and cables are correct.

  • In-line fuse for breakaway system is ok.

  • Cable and fuse line checked for signs of corrosion.

  • What is the tire air pressure weight (in lbs.)?

  • Spare tire is fastened.

  • What is the spare tire air pressure weight (in lbs.)?

  • The tire tread depth is adequate.

  • The tire tread surface has been checked for signs of uneven wear.

  • All wheel mounts have been checked for damaged rims.

  • All wheel lugs are accounted for.

  • All wheel lugs are tight.

  • Hitch is at the correct height and the trailer sits level behind the tow vehicle.

  • All trailer jacks are raised to the travel position.

  • Check trailer hydraulics for fluid leaks.

  • Inspect truck engine for fluid level or leaks.

  • Tie-downs and all cargo are properly secured.

  • Tower is firmly seated into the bedplate.

  • Signals and lighting fixtures are functioning.

  • There are extra fuses and bulbs on hand.

  • Emergency equipment is stored properly.

  • Fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and triangles are easily accessible in a location ready for use, not covered or blocked with other equipment.

  • What percentage are the electric brakes set at?

  • Set the best drive position and check linkages.

  • All sightlines through the rear of the truck are unobstructed.

  • All truck windows are clean.

  • Adjust rearview and side towing mirrors.

  • Identify blind spots. Where are they?

  • Windshield wipers are attached and show no signs of damage.

  • Windshield wiper fluid disperses evenly.

  • Horn functions properly.

  • Parking brake is in good working order.

  • Uni-strut removed and installed inside the truss on the<br>diagonal stringers.

Signature Entry

  • Single driver on a multi-day trip is permitted to drive a maximum of 9 hours per day.
