  • Personnel have been trained in PPE selection, wear & maintenance. Records are maintained (toolbox minutes)

  • Min PPE is correctly worn by all personnel - long trousers, long sleeved / collared shirt (tucked in, sleeves down), safety glasses, hearing protection, protective capped footwear (fully laced up)

  • Personnel understand correct method to remove PPE to prevent particles going into eye (ie lean forward when removing helmet/glasses, unbutton shirts etc)

  • Gloves are carried by personnel at all times

  • Appropriate gloves are worn when required (ie Handling material, welding, oxy, handling has substances, not worn with fixed rotating equipment)

  • Respirators are worn as appropriate, positive fit tests conducted

  • Grinding PPE - medium impact rated double eye protection (if welding helmet worn - lens & she'll AS impact rated), gloves and hearing protection

  • Welding PPE - spats, leather aprons, double eye protection, gloves
