Work Areas (Inspect)

  • Guard rails: top rail 900-1100mm above working surface, mid rail and tow boards are in place<br>

  • Fall protection anchorage points rated to 15kN

  • Static lines do not exceed 100m; anchorage every 10m

  • Ladders: stable footing, 1:4 angle, tied off, protrude 900mm beyond level being accessed, used only for access

  • All levels / areas below barricaded and sign posted

  • Fall protection equipment inspected quarterly, tagged by dogman (min) & records maintained (MGL-F-057 & MGL-F-058)

  • Fall protection equipment stored in dry, ventilated, off ground & out of direct sunlight.

  • Personnel have been deemed competent (records of nationally accredited / equivalent training & PAR)

  • Fall protection system is used: when risk of injury from fall, working outside hand rail, working from EWP, within 2.0m of open edge, when employee feels it is required

  • Process in place to transfer tools and material

  • Work at height permit is authorised for all work requiring fall protection

  • Appropriate fall protection is used (fall arrest or restraint)

  • Personnel aware of and agree emergency rescue procedure

  • All fall protection equipment is inspected prior to use & is free from defects

  • PPE correctly worn: safety glasses / boots, helmet with chin strap, fall restraint/arrest adjusted correctly, other as per JHA
