  • Welcome to our team! Since 1957 Seedorff Masonry has been building a tradition of performance that has set the standard for our industry. Founded in 1991, Architectural Wall systems has set the standard for building envelope design and future technology. During the course of your career, you'll have the opportunity to be part of one or both of these proud traditions.

    Upon joining the team, there are a few things that we need to cover with you before you start working on the job site. According to OSHA, we need to explain the hazards that you could be exposed to as well as what our expectations are regarding SMI/AWS's safety policies and procedures. The job site foreman, superintendent, or co-work can do this by walking you around the jobsite .

  • Next you will see a list of questions or statements . After you read them and your job site superintendent has explained them to you, you will need to mark yes if you understood what you read.If for some reason you do not understand, will need to mark no. This way we will know that you don't understand, and will take time to to explain it so you do. If you have any questions on the next section please make sure to ask.

General Safety

  • Has the location of first ad kits,fire extinguishers,eyewash station(s), and Emergency information been shown and explained to you?

Required PPE

  • Has the required PPE been shown to you? This would include safety glasses, hardhat, work boots, pants, 4'' sleeves on shirt. There also might be some site specific PPE make sure that this is talked about as well.

MSDS/SDS

  • Has the following information been explained to you? This will include the location of our Hazardous substances checklist,MSDS/SDS sheets, and the summary of what they are. ( Include Silica Awareness for SMI new hires).

Fall Protection

  • You will need to understand the importance of guard rails and toe boards, and our policy about removing them. Also be aware of the 6' rule. If you understand the information that was explained to you above please mark yes below.

Struck By

  • Has a explanation as to way we are require a hardhat to be on at all times, controlled accesses zones and limited accesses zones around the site, warning lines, and barricade tape. Please mark yes if you understand what has been explained to you.

Caught- in-between

  • Have you been warned about working around areas on site that could cause someone to be caught in or between such as mixers, forklifts, Hydro Mobile, Crank up Scaffolding, or any heavy equipment?

Electrocution Hazard

  • You will need to know the importance of cord inspections and also know how to do a cord inspection before each use.
