floors/ housekeeping

  • Check entire floor area for any hazards including spillages and equipment.<br>

  • Check for missing/ damage to signage, mounts and seals. <br>

  • Check equipment is fully charged (if gauge fitted)and has been serviced in last 12 months. <br>

  • Check that all equipment including extinguishers, call points and signage is visible and accessible. <br>

electrical switchboard

  • Is the door locked restricting access to service personal only. Under no circumstances are team to work on switchboard.<br>

  • Check that nothing is stored within 0.6 metres of switchboard and that no flammable materials are stored within 2 metres,<br>

  • Check access to switchboard to ensure area is free from hazards in case of emergency.<br>

visitors/ contractors

  • Check any contractors on site to ensure they have signed in and are wearing a visitor sticker and have filled in the maintenance Authority book and permit to work book as needed. <br>

  • If not signed in show them the visitors book and explain our H&S policy and store hazards.<br>

  • Check that any visitors are wearing appropriate footwear. (closed toe shoes).<br>

gas leaks

  • Check contractors are trained and know what to do in the event of a gas leak.<br>

generator

  • Check for any sign of damage to generator.<br>

  • Check that diesel container is empty.<br>

storage

  • Check that plant room is tidy and not used for storage.<br>

PPE check

  • Check to ensure all department PPE is available and in good condition. <br>

signage check

  • Check to ensure all listed signage is in place.<br>
