Inspection

  • There is a requirement to undertake inspection and testing of Water Quality in the IKEA where water softeners are present. Ongoing inspection and testing of the Water Quality alleviate the build-up of Lime scale in IKEA Food Equipment, extending the lifecycle of the Asset and reducing the costs associated with breakdowns as a result of Lime scale build-up

  • Inspection and Testing to be completed in the following locations:

  • 1. Level 1, Bistro Bin Room

  • 2. Level 2, Hot/Cold Water Room

  • 3. Level 2, Dishwash Room (Connected to Dishwasher)

  • Water Softer
  • Location

  • Remove round cover from salt dispenser

  • Check salt level against indicator inside dispenser. If salt is low, add salt to the indicator level

  • Using the test container provided, fill with 10ml of water from tap in kitchen or bistro

  • Drop one tablet into the water which will change the colour of the water to determine condition of the water

  • Photo of results

  • Once the tablet has been dropped into the test kit, if the results turn GREEN, this indicates the condition of the water is SOFT and no further action is required

  • Once the tablet has been dropped into the test kit, if the results turn RED, this indicates the water is HARD and rectification works are required. Please complete the following steps.

  • Create Purchase Order and Coordinate Site Inspection, Testing and Rectification works with:

  • Contractor: Dowdens, Ph: 07 3828 7000

  • (NOTE: Order salt and testing tablets as required in advance from Syndicate Plumbing Using IFS Cost Code)

  • Raise follow up WO in CAFM for rectification works

  • Reported any urgent issues requiring attention to the Facilities Manager (outside the existing scope incurring an additional costs)
