  • Step, platforms and access, including safe surfaces

  • Structural damage

  • Drivers cabin, housekeeping control

  • Lifting, tilt and side shift - working correctly?

  • Transmission, brakes and park brake

  • Has the job been planed and in line with procedures to ensure safe separation from people?

  • Is the number on the counterweight compatible with the forklift?

  • Is the forklift cleaning gear available for use? If not contact the team leader

  • Check fuel level - is there enough fuel in the forklift and fuel gauge working?

  • Are lifting shackles on forklift?

  • Operational hours (meter reading)
