Emergency Evacuation

  • Are adequate safety and warning signs present the DC?

  • Are evacuation procedures displayed

  • Is the emergency evacuation meeting point accessible?

  • Are emergency shower and eye wash stations inspected weekly?

  • Has all staff (including agency temps) been trained in evacuation?

Electrical

  • Has electrical equipment been tagged and tested?

Lighting And Passageways

  • Does the DC have adequate illumination?

  • Is emergency lighting operable?

Rubbish

  • Are bins located at suitable points around the DC?

  • Are bins suitable for waste type in DC?

Work Areas

  • Are work benches located in all required sections of the DC?

  • Are all workbenches at a suitable height?

  • Are there any sharp edges on workbenches?

  • Frequently picked items stored between knee and shoulder height?

Chemicals

  • Has the MSDS register been updated with all on-site chemicals?

  • Are all chemicals stored in their correct locations?

  • Have chemicals that can't be stored together been seperated?

First Aid

  • Are all staff (including temps) aware of the location of first aid cabinets?

  • Are all emergency numbers displayed near first aid cabinets?

  • Is the First Aid room appropriately located with adequate facilities?

  • Does each section of the DC have a First Aid injury registers?

General Environment

  • Are measures in place to reduce occupational overuse syndrome

  • Is there a requirement to work from heights?

Amenities

  • Are outside shelters provided and accessible?

  • Is adequate seating provided to help reduce fatigue?

Corrective Actions
