An employee scanning appliances in front of bay 5 has been hit by a clamp truck attempting to unload the trailer on bay 5. The injured person is conscious, but they appear to have a severe lower leg injury from the incident.

What initial steps will you take now you have been informed about the incident?
- Check area is safe to enter and then check on the injured person
- Arrange medical treatment - first dial 999
- Preserve the accident scene and ensure nothing is moved unless to prevent further injury.
- Identify who was involved and who may have witnessed
- Once identified - segregate them and place someone from your management team of possible
- Manage the rest of the shift appropriately - ensure they can't see the incident area and briefed no photos taken
- Start investigation
- Stop incoming trailers entering site through security
