1. Safety Inspection - Outside & Customer Areas

Exterior Customer Areas

  • EXT1: No Tripping Hazards - Walk around the entire site looking for trip hazards, including potholes in the car park.

  • EXT2: Sky Sign/Totem Sign - Securing bolts at base of sign are visible and clear of vegetation, bark chips etc. no significant corrosion of base or pole.

  • EXT3: Fixtures Fittings, Bins and Entrance Barriers - All are secure and in good condition. Fittings to check include seating ,Menu Boards, POP, height restrictors, lighting, etc. Drive Thru fixed bins not located under the roof overhang. Where required, only vertical opening gates or barriers are present .Barriers, parasols and banner holders are secured in position.

  • EXT4: Temporary External Furniture - If external furniture is used it is in good condition, with no defects and located within the limits of the restaurants Pavement Licence/demise. A suitable secure location is available to store the furniture when it is not being used.

  • EXT5: Signs And Visibility For Drivers - Signs warn of presence of pedestrians e.g. pedestrian warning highways sign on entrance to car park or before each pedestrian crossing. Clear road markings indicate where drivers should stop, give way etc. Driver visibility at junctions is unobstructed. All signs remain unobstructed by plants or vegetation.

  • EXT6 Pedestrian Routes And Barriers - Pedestrian routes and crossings are clearly marked. Planting at pedestrian crossing points is maintained at a low level to ensure good visibility. Barriers near outside seating and play areas prevent direct path to traffic routes. Pedestrian safety is not compromised by additional traffic measures implemented during high volume periods.

Dining Areas

  • D1Power-assisted doors ONLY (button-activated) - Power-assisted mechanism in working order. Test ‘auto-stop’ facility (doors stop or reverse after contact with obstruction).

  • D2 Fully automatic doors ONLY(sensor activated) - Automatic opening mechanism in working order. Test ‘auto-stop’ facility (doors stop or reverse after contact with obstruction). Signage in place on door includes “Automatic Door” sign.

  • D3 All Doors incl. No Smoking signage - Where signed as FIRE EXIT, doors open outwards and are fitted with a thumb-turn lock (fitted to outer door if inner and outer doors present). Doors close fully without slamming. Doors and handles are in good condition. No Smoking signage displayed. Key is available to lock door.

  • D4 Glass doors and windows - Conspicuous permanent markings are present on doors and windows where glass extends full height, e.g. door comprising one complete pane of glass. Markings normally consists of ‘etched ’logo sticker.

  • D5 Walkways and entrance matting -
