  • A TAC pack needs to be available on every appliance. Please order one through Area Office.

  • Incident Controller vest

  • Incident Controller tabards are very important in identifying the IC and must be kept in the primary response appliance. Please order one from Area Office.

  • Note book & pens

  • A notebook and pen should be kept in each appliance.

  • Torch

  • Please ensure that there is at least 1 torch in the cab of the Appliance.

  • Fixed UHF radio

  • Is the radio fully functional?

  • If there is no fixed UHF Radio please contact Area Office to arrange to have one fitted.

  • Fixed VHF radio

  • Is the radio fully functional?

  • If there is no fixed VHF Radio please contact Area Office to arrange to have one fitted.

  • Hand held VHF radio

  • If hand held radios are kept in the Fire Station then this Box should be left unchecked

  • Hand held UHF radio

  • If hand held radios are kept in the Fire Station then this Box should be left unchecked

  • Burn over blanket

  • It is mandatory for each appliance to carry burn over blankets for each crew member. 3 on a medium attack and 2 on a light attack. Please requisition blankets to complete the correct number for this appliance from Area Office.

  • Tool kit and jack

  • Every Appliance must carry a jack and tool kit in case of punctures. If one is not on the Appliance then one must obtained immediately at brigade expense.

  • Mobile phone

  • A mobile phone is not a required item for this Inspection.

  • Although Riggers gloves are part of Firefighters personal PPE, some spare gloves on the appliance are a good idea.

  • Fire Blanket. This is not the Burn Over Protection Blanket, but rather the kitchen type Fire Blanket.

  • Please obtain a new Fire Blanket. These can requisitioned from Area Office.

  • Drinking Water

  • Please make sure that there is always fresh Drinking Water on the Appliance.

CAB INTERIOR

  • This should be purchased by the brigade.

  • A GPS is not a required item in all appliances, but all Support Vehicles should have a GPS.

  • If not present the brigade should purchase one.

  • TAC pack (A4 version)

  • A TAC pack needs to be available on every support vehicle. Please order one through Area Office.

  • T Cards

  • All types of T Cards must be kept in support vehicles. These can be obtained by requisitioning them from Area Office. Please order some as soon as possible

  • Incident Controller vest

  • Incident Controller tabards are very important in identifying the IC and must be kept in the primary response appliance. Please order one from Area Office.

  • Note book & pens

  • A notebook and pen should be kept in each appliance.

  • Torch

  • Please ensure that there is at least 1 torch in the cab of the Appliance.

  • Fixed UHF radio

  • Is the radio fully functional?

  • If there is no fixed UHF Radio please contact Area Office to arrange to have one fitted.

  • Fixed VHF radio

  • Is the radio fully functional?

  • If there is no fixed VHF Radio please contact Area Office to arrange to have one fitted.

  • Hand held VHF radio

  • If hand held radios are kept in the Fire Station then this Box should be left unchecked

  • Hand held UHF radio

  • If hand held radios are kept in the Fire Station then this Box should be left unchecked

  • Burn over blanket

  • It is mandatory for each vehicle to carry burn over blankets for each crew member. 3 on a medium attack and 2 on a light attack. Please requisition blankets to complete the correct number for this appliance from Area Office.

  • Tool kit and jack

  • Every Appliance must carry a jack and tool kit in case of punctures. If one is not on the Appliance then one must obtained immediately at brigade expense.

  • Mobile phone

  • A mobile phone is not a required item for this Inspection.

  • A 4.5kg Dry Chemical Extinguisher is a mandatory piece of Equipment. Please obtain one as soon as you can and be sure that it is in date.

  • Hearing protection. Either Ear Plugs or Ear Muffs

  • Please requisition new hearing protection from Area Office. Hearing protection must be provided for people working close to the operating Pump.

  • Eye protection. Goggles

  • Please requisition new Goggles from Area Office. Eye protection must be provided for people working on the Fire ground.

  • Respiratory protection. P2 masks.

  • Please requisition new P2 Masks from Area Office. Respiratory protection must be provided for people working on the Fire ground.

  • Riggers Gloves

  • Although Riggers gloves are part of Firefighters personal PPE, some spare gloves on the appliance are a good idea.

  • Burn Over Blankets

  • Please immediately requisition 2 Burn Over Blankets from Area Office. Or if you have them at the station make sure that they are put in the Locker.

  • Fire Blanket. This is not the Burn Over Protection Blanket, but rather the kitchen type Fire Blanket.

  • Please obtain a new Fire Blanket. These can requisitioned from Area Office.

  • Drinking Water

  • Please make sure that there is always fresh Drinking Water on the Appliance.
