Base

Geometry

Bracing

  • Is the facade bracing fixed to every lift?

  • Is the facade bracing fitted along the face of the scaffold at least every 5 bays?

  • Is the facade bracing set at between 35 and 55 degrees?

Tubes and Fittings

  • Do the tubes and fittings need inspecting at this audit?

  • Are the tubes and fittings used in good condition (rust free)?

  • Have the correct couplers been used?

  • Are all fittings tightened sufficiently?

  • Are check couplers fitted as required?

Access

  • Does the access need inspecting at this audit?

  • Is access provided to full height of the scaffold?

  • Is the ladder at a slope of 75 degrees or 1:4 ratio base to height?

  • Is the head securely tied and feet on a firm and level base?

  • Do the ladders rise at least 1.05m (3 rungs) above each platform?

  • Are the ladders undamaged?

Platforms

  • Do the platforms want inspecting at this audit?

  • Are the supports/transoms correct and evenly distributed?

  • Is the overhang a minimum of 50mm (max 150mm)?

  • Are the boards sound? (No nothched or cut boards)

  • Are board ends strapped?

  • Are lapped boards safe?

  • Are the boards secure? (Tied)

  • Is the gap from board to wall within 225mm?

Guard Rails and Toe Boards

  • Do the guard rails and toe boards need inspecting at this audit?

  • Are the guard rails secured to the inside of the standards?

  • Are guard rails fixed at least 950mm above the level of the platform?

  • Is intermediate side protection provided so that there is no vertical gap exceeding 470mm

  • Are toe boards fitted to all platforms and at least 150mm high?

  • Are the toe boards secured to the inside of the standard?

Loading and loading bays?

  • Do the loading bays and loading of materials need inspecting at this audit?

  • Is the erected scaffold correct for its intended use?

  • Is there a loading bay?

  • Is it fit for purpose?

  • Does it have the correct guards/gates?

  • Is it loaded within the load limits?

  • Are the loads on the platform evenly distributed?

  • Are stacked materials secure?

Ties

  • Do the ties need to be inspected at this audit? (Only inspect if ties are present)

  • Have sufficent ties been used in accordance with current regulations?

  • Are ties fixed with right angle couplers?

  • Are ties attached to both inner and outer standards or ledger?

Scafftag

  • Does the scafftag need inspecting at this audit?

  • Is the scafftag prominently displayed at all access points?

  • Have the details of the scafftag been completed correctly?

  • Have the inspections been written in and signed by an authorised person?

  • Are the inspection frequencies in accordance with the regulations?
