Rig Floor

Power and Hand Tools

  • Are the hydraulic tongs in good condition?

  • Is the snubbing line installed, secured and in good condition?

  • Is the tong lift cylinder installed and free of leaks?

  • Are all hand tools in good condition and stored properly?

  • Are the air slips installed and working properly?

  • Are the slips, dies and tong dies in good condition?

Hoisting Tools, Hooks, Elevators and Other Related Equipment

  • Are the traveling blocks in good condition?

  • Are the blocks properly guarded?

  • Are the elevators in good condition?

  • Is the hoisting hook equipped with a safety latch?

  • Do the bolts in the traveling blocks side plate have keepers?

Stairs Ladders Hand Rails & Guard Rails.

  • Are the stairs in good condition and secured to the rig floor?

  • Are the stair treads and handrails free of damage?

  • Are there guard rails, mid rails and toe boards installed on and along any open side edges of platforms or floors above four feet high?

  • Do all stairs and ladders have non-skid treads?

Work Over Rig Carrier and Dog House Trailer & Other Vehicles

  • Rate the cleanliness of the rig cab.

  • Are there seat belts in the cab?

  • Are the rig carrier jacks in good condition? (Free of leaks and the jam nuts in good condition)

  • Are there handrails/guard rails installed on all elevated walkways and steps?

  • Are the wheels chocked?

  • Rate the condition of the tires on the carrier.

  • Does the doghouse trailer have safety chains and is the hitch in good condition?

  • Rate the tires on the doghouse trailer.

  • Rate the cleanliness and housekeeping of the doghouse.
