The Short Service Employee (SSE) Program is intended to ensure that SSE are
identified, appropriately supervised, trained, mentored, and managed in order to
prevent accidents such as personal injury, injury to others, environmental
damage, or property damage. A supervisor will ensure that the SSE will monitor
all activities conducted for the awareness of health, safety, and environmental
issues. During the SSE period, the SSE will be required to wear an identifiable
SSE indicator. Upon completion of the 90 business day SSE period, a
supervisor can approve the employee being removed from the SSE program.
