  • Shut Down Procedure

  • Names of participants in this process

  • 1. Stop the Engine: Release the throttle trigger to bring the engine to idle. Press the engine stop switch (kill switch) to turn off the engine.

  • 2. Allow the Engine to Cool: Wait for the engine and exhaust components to cool down completely before handling or storing the tool.

  • 3. Inspect the Tool: Check for any damage or wear on the cutting head, line spool, or blade. Look for loose or missing parts and tighten or replace them as needed.

  • 4. Clean the Tool: Remove grass, dirt, and debris from the cutting head, shaft, and air vents using a brush or cloth. Ensure the cooling fins on the engine are free of obstructions. Clean the air filter if necessary (refer to the manufacturer's manual).

  • 5. Empty the Fuel Tank: If storing for more than 30 days, drain the fuel tank completely in a well-ventilated area. Run the engine until it stops to use up any remaining fuel in the carburetor. Dispose of fuel responsibly and in accordance with local regulations.

  • 6. Lubricate Moving Parts: Apply appropriate lubricant to the gear head and other moving parts as recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Storage Procedure

  • 1. Choose a Storage Location: Store the brush cutter in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Ensure the storage area is secure and out of reach of children or unauthorized users.

  • 2. Protect the Cutting Head: Remove and clean the cutting head or line spool. Replace the line spool if worn. Cover the cutting head or blade with a protective sheath to prevent accidental injury.

  • 3. Check and Secure the Tool: Ensure all fasteners and components are tightened. Position the tool securely to prevent it from falling or tipping over.

  • 4. Battery-Powered Models (if applicable): Remove the battery pack and store it separately in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing batteries in extreme temperatures or direct sunlight. Ensure they are charged or returned to charger

  • 5. Long-Term Storage (More Than 30 Days): Apply a light coat of oil to the metal parts of the tool to prevent rust. Store the brush cutter in a horizontal position, or hang it securely on a wall bracket. Check Maintenance book hanging with brushcutter/line trimmer

  • 6. Check Before Reuse: Before using the tool again, inspect it thoroughly for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace or repair any damaged parts, and refill with fresh fuel if needed.
