INSPECTION CHECK LIST

  • Does table match work order specifications?

  • Do pinch points exist in any position during table movement? (18 inch clearance required to nearby objects)

  • Table is securely anchored to floor

  • Is table painted orange in accordance with Toyota equipment specifications?

  • Do any sharp edges exist on any part of table or controls?

  • Corner gussets will securely hold rack/container in place regardless of location of rack/container on table?

  • Does control mounting location create an additional hazard (pinch point, trip hazard, etc)?

  • Are controls mounted so the team member operating them has an unconstructed view of table rotation/tilt path?

  • Emergency stop button of control immediately halts movement/rotation of table (no over travel)

  • Emergency stop button is red, mushroom type, with yellow background and is not equipped with guard or cover?

  • All controls are appropriately marked and easily accessible ?

  • Turntable rotation speed (180' rotation) no faster than 25 sec for cycle start control, 12 seconds for operator control.

  • Turntable speed control is not easily accessed by unauthorized personnel

  • Motorized turntable are equipped with "wings" on each side to prevent someone from standing in the tables rotation path. For tables with shared rotation space, barrier posts have been placed at line side and aisle side to prevent team members from walking between the two tables.

  • Is there sufficient/adequate lighting in the area?

  • Is turntable rotation path clearly marked on the floor?

  • Lifting mechanism is guarded with an apron or other effective device.

  • Is the operating area clear of overhead obstructions or interferences?

  • Tilt table stop chains equipped with protective sleeves ( to prevent binding)

  • Energy sources ( pneumatic, electric, etc.) is capable of being locked out.

  • Lockout device (valve, switch) is easily identified and is easily accessible.

  • Bleed off valve is readily available to relieve stored pneumatic or fluid energy.

  • Is there a means to prevent rotation of turntable during rack changeout ( lockout device, friction stop, etc)?

  • Does install location allow sufficient room for forklift feeding of parts to the line?

  • Does table extend into the main aisle in its " parked" working position?

  • Does any part of rack (outrigger, etc) extend into aisle space when tablet is in its " parked" working position?

  • Standardized work includes safety note for motorized turntables?
