  • PLEASE READ TO THE CANDIDATE (Team member being assessed). To be deemed competent for this Verification of Competency, a score of more than 32 out of a possible 32 marks (100%) is required. Any test point resulting in a status of 'not yet competent' or a correction will result in an overall 'Not Yet Competent' Status. We would encourage participants to continue through the test process, in such cases as a valuable learning opportunity/ experience in preparation for a future retest. The VOC can be rescheduled when the Team Member and their Line Manager feel that the team member has had sufficient time, and practice in the task and is ready for new attempt, with sufficient time passed (refer to the VOC guide). The VOC is an achievement and sets a high standard recognising a Team Members professional mastery of a task within Harvest Road Oceans.

2.0 Understanding Purpose

Test point (2) Team member can articulate when asked why it would be important to control the visiting driver and/or visiting vehicles movements and positioning in the yard area- (safety of pedestrians, interactions with onsite mobile plant and movement areas, prevention of inadvertent interruptions of the production process).

3.0 Check the work area & coordinate the activity

  • This section of the VOC is seeking to gage the team members hazard and control appreciation- to ensure the task area is free from hazards and that on appraisal, that the area may have additional controls implemented.

TM answers- STOP the vehicle, inform the driver to wait while the area is readied for them, control the area effectively, then inform the driver of where to go and assist/ monitor the movement for safety.

4.0 Performing the task

  • This section of the VOC encapsulates the whole performance of controlling safely the visiting driver
