• Have the site team been communicated the Stonbuty Water and Wastewater Cross-Working procedure?

 • Is a copy of the Water and Wastewater Cross-Working procedure available for site teams?

 • Have all individuals working on restricted operations been trained and authorised under an approved water hygiene scheme? (EUSR)

 • Are EUSR cards carried at all times by any individual working on restricted operations?
• Is there adequate provision of toilet and washing facilities to enable all personnel working on both wastewater and restricted operations to maintain the highest standards of personal
hygiene?
• Have the site team provided with a full set of PPE that is only to be used on wastewater sites and kept separate from any PPE used on restricted operations?

 • Is wastewater PPE stored separately from PPE to be used on restricted operations?

 • Are kit bags for wastewater PPE labelled? i.e. “WASTEWATER PPE. DO NOT USE ON CLEAN WATER SITES”.

 • Does the site team understand that Wastewater PPE must not be taken home for laundering?

 • Are self laundering facilities (capable of washing at 60c) provided at the local depot or an industrial laundry service provided?

 • Are separate tool sets available for water and wastewater operations?

 • Are tool sets for use on wastewater operations clearly tagged?

 • Are tools and other equipment to be used on restricted operations stored in designated areas? Particular attention should be paid to the potential for contamination from fuel oil and other
similar chemicals.

 • Are dedicated operational vehicles carrying tools and equipment available for use on restricted operations? (This means that dedicated vehicles or hire vehicles must be sourced
for wastewater operations.)

 • Where not possible, for example in the case of specialised vehicles (e.g. excavators which have been in contact with sewage, sewage sludge or spray from wastewater treatment processes),
are specific and individual risk assessments carried out prior to use?
• Are procedures in place in workshops and stores to prevent cross contamination between equipment used for water supply and other uses?

 • Are tools and equipment which come into contact with non-potable water cleaned and disinfected before use in restricted operations?
• Are pipes and fittings for use in water supply stored raised above ground level and protected from contamination by the use of end caps or similar?

 • Are water supply pipes and fittings that may be contaminated, for example having been stored without satisfactory end cap protection, cleaned and disinfected prior to deployment?

 • Do the site team know it is recommended that workers likely to come into contact with sewage check with their GP that their Polio and Tetanus boosters are up to date?
