Inspection Report

  • Inspect structural state of the gate support posts and foundations.

  • Is the gates manual or automatic ?

  • If manual, is all of the manual gate furniture in good condition?

  • Inspect the condition of the gates.

  • Check gate alignment and ground clearance.

  • Inspect general condition of hinges, gate stops and other gate furniture. (Remove finger guards to inspect if applicable)

  • Check manual release and locking performance.

  • Will the failure of any one component lead to a catastrophic failure?

  • Inspect cable ducts, conduit and trunking.

  • Clean out foundation box’s and check drainage.

  • Check condition of motor / gate operator.

  • Check operator fittings, brackets and geometry.

  • Visually check the condition of ground loop of installed.

  • Lubricate all moving points.

  • Check gate operation in manual operation.

  • Bleed system and top up oil (if applicable)

  • Assess performance of operators and clutch settings.

  • Pressure test and adjustment - open and close.

  • Assess system usage levels: low / medium / high.

  • Assess logic, run, pause, leaf delay and over run times.

  • Check electrical connections, terminations and protection.

  • Check condition and operating of control panel.

  • Check access control, and intercoms.

  • Check photocells. If battery powered replace for new.

  • Check safety edges. If battery powered replace for new.

  • Check buttons, keypads and fobs. If battery powered replace for new.

  • Check electrical locking systems such as mag locks and solenoid locks.

  • Check condition of all cabling. Is it external grade cable ?

  • Check operation of the gate. Is it hold to run, step step or automatic?

  • Are the gates up to current safety standards?

  • Attach gate MOT, company details or Dangerous do not use stickers.

  • Was the gate operating safely in arrival at site and power supply reconnected for automatic operation? If no please state why.
