Pole Placement
-
Conway Corps is to place pole on an X Beam for mounting the siren.
-
Notice the wooden X beams
-
Take spray paint and mark the pole at 8' from the bottom
-
Take the pole and mark it at 16' from the bottom of the pole.
-
Pay attention! Conway corps my have to cut off some of the bottom of the pole so it will fit in the existing hole. Make sure you do your measurements after the cut if they do have to do this.
-
Pre drill two 3/4 holes at the top of the pole for the siren mount. One hole should already line up if you are lucky.
Siren mount
-
Place mount on pole
-
Stick all thread through both holes. The all thread comes with the siren mount
-
Drill a small hole in the bottom of the mount for the grounding wire.
-
Put a washer, lock washer, and a nut on both sides of the all thread.
Siren motor
-
Take a chain of equal length on both sides and attach it to the two lifting eyes, using two D ring capable of holding 250lbs.
Now attach the siren motor to the lift.
-
While lifting the siren head have a second person align the head to the mounting holes on the site mount.
Siren boxes 1 thru 3
-
Box 1 and 2 come built together, so they will be heavy. You will need some type of fulcrum or boards to hold the box up so the you can level the box and them pre-drill the holes for the screws that will hold the boxes in.
-
Box 3 goes directly behind box 1 and 2. It then mounts flush from the top of box 1 You also must pre drill the holes for box 3
Conduit
-
You use flex conduit from the head to the first run of Galvanized conduit.
-
Run the 1' conduit down the pole until it is in the middle of box 1 and 2 Use nails so that you can line the conduit up before you fasten it to the pole. You will have to cut the last pipe to have it meet in the middle of box 1and 2.
-
Cut holes in boxes 1 and 2 for the flex conduit going to box one, and for the flex conduit coming from box 1 to box 2.
-
Install new AC service for 220 two phase siren.
-
Attention! Conway corp will only connect to the weather head. They will go no further than that by law.
