Duty Manager H&S training for higher risk areas and situations to be completed by all duty managers at least on an annual basis and before they commence with their first official duty manager shift

Water systems

  • Have you been sufficiently trained in how to reset the hot water boilers?

  • Have you been sufficiently trained in the location of the trip switches for the boilers and how to reset them?

  • Have you been sufficiently trained in how to check and reset the water pumps to manual override?

Climbing wall

  • Have you been sufficiently trained in the day to day operation of the climbing wall?

  • Are you aware of the climbing wall H&S arrangements - where to view a copy and your responsibility towards complying with these arrangements?

Power failure

  • Are you familiar with the various locations of the trip switch cupboards?

  • Have you been sufficiently trained in how to reset a trip switch safely?

  • Are you aware of the risk assessment that covers dealing with trip switches - where to a view a copy and your responsibility towards complying with the safety measures?

Drain blockage

  • Are you aware of how to deal with a serious drain blockage?

  • Are you aware of the risk assessment that covers dealing with serious drain blockages - where to a view a copy and your responsibility towards complying with the safety measures?

Fire safety

  • Are you aware of the expectations in regards to maintaining clear and safe fire exits at all times?

  • Are you familiar with the clubs fire risk assessment - where to view a copy and your responsibility towards complying with the safety measures?

  • Have you been sufficiently inducted in the club fire evacuation plan and your responsibilities as a duty manager in carrying out a safe fire evacuation?

First aid and incidents

  • Have you been sufficiently trained in the use of the club defibrillator?

  • Are you familiar with the location of the first aid boxes?

  • Are you familiar with the process for dealing with accidents and incidents and reporting them properly?

Kitchen operations

  • Are you familiar with the locations of the reset switches for the gas and power in the kitchen and how to reset them?

  • Are you familiar with the location of the kitchen extract fan and how to override the time switch or reset the power?

Duty manager compulsory training - this is the responsibility of the HOD to ensure all duty managers receive the relevant training

  • Have you been registered for the relevant duty manager training as detailed in the H&S policy?
