Test Results:
Allowable Leakage Computation:
-
1. AWWA C-600 Ductile Iron Mains L = SD(P)^.5/133,200
2. AWWA Manual No. M-23 - PVC Main L = ND(P)^.5/7,400
3. L = { [ (D1 x S1) + (D2 + S2) + (D3 + S3) + (D4 + S4) ] x P x H } / 133,200
L = Allowable Leakage (in gallons / hour)
S = Length of line tested (in feet)
D = Internal Diameter (in inches) of the pipe tested
P = Square root of the average test pressure (psi)
N = Number of joints along pipe being tested
H = Duration of test (hours) -

Minimum Standards:
-
A) All water mains shall be tested at 150% of the average working pressure. The minimum pressure test is set to 150 psi.
B) All forced mains shall be tested at 100% of the average working pressure. The minimum pressure test is set to 100 psi.
C) A minimum test time has been set at 2 hours.
D) The maximum pressure variation shall be 5 psi.
E) All services shall be visually examined during the test.
F) All visible leaks shall be repaired regardless of the outcome of the test.
