Guidance

  • Racking inspections to be completed on a monthly basis by a SEMA trained operative. Guidance to be followed as per training; Each rack aisle and its locations (EG Bay A) the following shall be inspected. 1: Front upright 2: Rear upright 3: Horizontal bracing 4: Diagonal Bracing 5: Base plat 6: Levelling plates 7: Floor fixings 8: Front beam 9: Rear beam 10: Beam safety lock 11: Frame spacer, 12: Load notices. And where applicable the following shall be checked. Nut and bolt set, guard rail, shelf panels, sacrificial leg kit, Column guard, splice and decking. Each inspector shall positively select Pass (No defect), Green, Amber or Red (Identified by the degree of damage). Where a RED or AMBER defect is identified, the inspector shall notify the production manager and / or factory manager and advise on action required. The risk level and action required guidance shall be followed.
