1. Waste Management

  • 1.4 Does the waste in each skip match its designation i.e. no contamination of waste stream?

  • 1.5 Is the housekeeping around the Hazardous Waste area acceptable?

  • 1.8. Is there sufficient containment in place to capture any leaks from the Hazardous Waste?

2. Housekeeping

  • 2.1 Is the site free of litter?

  • 2.2 Are materials in designated areas tidy and away from pedestrian routes?

  • 2.4 Have any stockpiled materials been covered securely?

  • 2.5 Are all gas containers stored in a secure, well ventilated area?

3. Pollution Prevention and Response

  • 3.1 Is there an Emergency Response Plan in place? If yes - how is this communicated?

  • 3.11 Have details of the Emergency Pollution Response Plan been adequately communicated to all site workers, including Emergency Contact Numbers?

5. Noise, Vibration and Light Management

  • 5.5 Are plant fitted with broadband "white noise" reversing alarms?

  • 5.7 Are lights positioned to face away from site boundary in order to reduce impact on residents?

6. Air Emissions

  • 6.1 Are vehicles and plant free from smoke?

  • 6.2 Are operations free of dust?

  • 6.3 Are vehicle routes free of dust?

  • 6.4 Are suitable arrangements in place to minimise the impact of dust?

  • 6.5 Are dust suppression bowsers/street sweepers or wheel washes in use?

7. Ecology

  • 7.1 Where required, have measures been put in place to prevent operations from negatively impacting off site habitats and species?

  • 7.2 Has the presence of any invasive species been identified within the site e.g. Japanese Knotweed

  • 7.3 Are risks from invasive species being managed appropriately?

  • 7.4 Have any features of ecological interest been identified on site since the last inspection?

8. Land Management and Access

  • 8.1 Is there adequate security and fencing on site to prevent unauthorised access?

  • 8.2 Is external signage denoting safe pedestrian routes in place?
