  • Due to recent incidents at Monash Health of deliberately lit fires on inpatient units, random ward searches will be conducted in order to ensure that all forms of contraband are removed from the ward environment, to minimise the access of banned items to patients on Unit 1.
    These items are as follows:
    cigarettes and lighters
    illegal drugs
    candles and incense burners
weapons such as knives, firearms, sharp implements,
    rolling papers
    smoking paraphernalia
glass objects such as perfume bottles, picture frames, glass cups/mugs

These items are to be photographed, then bagged and tagged if found, and removed from ward environment until discharge.

Illegal items are to be reported to authorities and report made through Riskman.

Report to be forwarded to Kelly.Isle@monashhealth.org as a pdf. file for auditing purposes.
