1. Visual Inspection

  • Is there any visible damage to the vehicle?

  • Are all lights (headlights, indicators, brake lights) functioning?

  • Tyres have proper inflation, adequate tread and are free of damage?

  • Mirrors are clean and properly adjusted?

  • Windscreen is clean and free of cracks?

2. Fluids Check

  • Engine oil level

  • Coolant level

  • Brake fluid level

  • Power steering fluid level

  • Transmission oil level

  • Windshield washer fluid

3. Under the Hood

  • Are there any leaks or loose connections?

  • Are any belts or hoses worn or damaged?

4. Battery

  • Are battery terminals clean and secure

  • Any signs of corrosion?

5. Cabin Check

  • Adjust seat and steering wheel for comfort and safety.

  • Verify horn and all dashboard warning lights function correctly.

  • Test windshield wipers and washers

Ensure truck safety kit is in truck and all components are present:

  • Fire extinguisher (check that it is charged and has not been used)

  • Safety triangles

  • First aid kit

  • High vis vest

  • Torch

6. Start-Up

  • Start the engine and listen for unusual noises

  • Observe that all gauges (fuel, temperature, oil pressure) are operating correctly.

7. Final Walk Around

  • Conduct a final walk around to ensure no obstructions or hazards around the vehicle

  • Confirm all doors and compartments are securely closed.

  • Ensure no straps are still left out

  • Ensure the reversing camera has been cleaned
