Methodology

  • Visual Inspection Methodology

The Purpose of this inspection is to visually ascertain if all the equipment in the area documented has been installed to the correct standards.
When inspecting the installation please review against the current BS / ISO standards, project specifications drawings, instructions / acceptance criteria and manufacturer instructions.

    Key Areas to inspect:

Containment - Installed to the current British Standards and in line with the project specification and drawings

Cabling - Segregated, secured, terminated and labelled

Hardware – level, correct fixings used, terminated and labelled

The final document should be able to tell the reviewer when and who inspected the installation. What specific area and equipment they inspected and if it met the required standards.
If the standards were not met the reviewer should be able to easily identify what areas have fallen below the required standard and photo evidence of this.
