Safety 1. General

  • Field Workforce Information Pack is readily accessible on site and up to date with information (E.g. alerts)?

  • Is spoil being kept a minimum of 1.5m from edge of trench / excavation?

  • Are there a sufficient number of trained first-aid staff on-site in accordance with First Aid Risk Assessment?

  • Are there applicable Emergency Response Plans on site and have workers been taken through the details of this plan?

  • Is there a fully stocked spill kit on site if workers are storing and using chemicals which have the potential to pollute the environment?

  • Are all outriggers are packed / supported as per manufacturers’ and/ or engineer’s recommendations and are protected from traffic / disturbance by physical barriers?

  • Are power lines de-activated, removed or at a safe distance?

  • Is there proper loading for capacity at lifting radius?

  • Heavy duty (200 micron) asbestos disposal bags are being used and all asbestos pieces/debris removed from site?

  • No compressed air or high pressure water is being used on suspected asbestos containing materials?

  • Workers conducting asbestos related works have completed approved asbestos removalist / supervisor training?

  • Contractors are appropriately licensed if they are conducting any asbestos removal work?

  • Asbestos disposal bags are being stored in approved lockable and labelled consolidation bins and not stockpiled?

  • When removing pits suspected of containing asbestos, 50mm of soil around the pit is also removed and bagged with the asbestos waste?
