  • This inspection consists of asking the following questions and answering 'yes' or 'no'. The purpose is to identify if the condition of the MCC Room, HV Room or Rack Room; meets the required standards, has the appropriate risk management controls in place and good housekeeping is maintained.

MCC Room Inspection

  • Are the doors of the MCC room in good operating condition? To inspect; locks, hinges,door seals, auto closers.

  • Is the room 'free' of chemicals being stored? If there are chemicals being stored then answer 'No' and state corrective actions to have them removed.

  • Are spare parts stacked neatly in demarcated areas?

  • Are LV/HV rescue kits available, easily accessible and fully stocked?

  • Is the lighting fully functional?

  • Are all switchboard panels closed and locking mechanisms in good working order?

  • Are all documents (drawings, manuals etc) stored neatly and in labelled locations?

  • Are manhole doors closed and hinges intact?

  • Are garbage bins in place, being emptied regularly and being used?

  • Are the spaces behind and in-between switchboards clear of debris?

  • Are all unused cable entries closed?

  • Are tools clean, in good condition and stored on shadow board?

  • Is the floor dry?

  • Is the fire fighting equipment in place, has a current inspection and in good condition?

  • Are all walkways/paths clear of any obstacles?

  • Are exit doors clearly marked and unobstructed?
