Scaffold Checklist

Logbook - Is the scaffold logbook up to date and signed off

Bracing - Are diagonal bracing in place every 3rd bay front and rear

Ties - Is the scaffold tied into the building

Sole plates - Are there sole plates under the scaffold (sole boards do not need to be in one piece)

Transoms - Are the transoms fitted every 2 meters and are they locked in, not left loose.

Ledgers - Are the ledgers fitted every 2 meters and not left loose. <br>Are ledgers supporting all deck levels are they locked in.<br>

Base plates - Are the base plates sitting on the sole boards

Planks - Are the work decks full planked out? With no missing planks or holes in the scaffold.

Planks - Are all lap boards in place and tied down

Platform - Are all gaps no greater than 225 mm adjacent to the face of structure/building?

Passageways & working -Are all walkways clear of obstructions, tripping hazards and loose material

Kickboards - Are the kick boards fitted and clipped / tied against wind movement.

Standards - Are all standards locked in, not left loose?

Roof access - Is there a safe roof access point available has it been set at a suitable height E.g., Handrail with no gaps between scaffold & roof handrail.

Stair voids - Are stair voids in place with no potential fall areas?

Access - Is there clear access in and around the scaffold

Ladders - Are access ladders in good condition and set-up to a 1:4 and protrude 1 metre above the work deck.

Stair Access - Is the stair access in good condition and safe to use?

Brick guards/Mesh & shade cloth - If brick guards are fitted, are they in place to prevent materials from falling from a height (e.g. brickwork being carried out).<br>

Scaftag - Is there a scaftag available at the access way. If so, has it been completed, legible, current – competent person must inspect scaffold at least monthly?

ARE THERE ANY OTHER POTENTIAL RISKS FROM HAZARDS IDENTIFIED ON SITE THAT MAY AFFECT YOUR WORK TASK?

If you have identified any other potential risks - you must speak to the TownLiving Site Supervisor who will arrange to have the scaffold made safe. You are not to work on the scaffold until scaffold has been rectified.
