Site Safety Inspection

Incidents / Non-Conformances

  • Was there any incidents, accidents or near misses in the last week?

First Aid Facilities

  • Is there a First Aid Sign identifying First Aid Kit Location?

  • Request PM for First Aid Sign

  • Is there a First Aid Kit on site ?

  • Check First Aid Kit Contents - Is there (Bandages, Band Aids, Eye Wash, Antiseptic cream etc)

  • Request Pm for First Aid Kit

  • Is there a First Aid Officer on Site - Please Identify

  • Take a photo of the "First Aid Kit"

Fire Prevention & Emergency

  • Are emergency numbers displayed?

  • Emergency Exits are Sign posted?

  • Exits clear of obstructions?

  • Fire Extinguishers serviced with 6 months ? (check punch mark on tabs)

  • Fire Extinguishers easily accessible - no obstructions ?

  • Take a photo of the "Fire Extinsguisher"

Site Security

  • Is Site Project Details on Display - as well as PPE and Safety Signage ?

  • Is Induction and Sign In Poster displayed ?

  • Are all entries and exits closed and locked at night and during weekends?

  • Take a photo of the Sign in posters/area

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Is eye, hearing and face protection worn for designated tasks?

  • Are workers wearing Hard Hats, Steel Cap boots and Hi Vis (when required) ?

Housekeeping

  • Is site generally orderly, with rubbish or waste materials disposed of correctly?

  • Are walkways clear of rubbish and other building materials?

  • Take a photo of the walkways

  • Is there a Trip Hazard Sign

  • Is there a Emergency Exit Sign

Trip and Fall Safety

  • Is their working at heights on different levels, scaffold or floors ?

  • Are appropriate measures in place to prevent falls? ie. handrails, barriers and edge protection ?

  • Are all floor openings (Voids) fully barricaded or are protected with a secured cover and labelled?

  • Is all work above 2m, or within 2m of an edge being done safely?

  • Are personnel below protected from falling materials (i.e. tools, bolts, etc.)?

  • Is there EWP being used on site?

  • Has log book been filled out prior to EWP use?

  • Take a photo of EWP

Hand and Power Tools

  • Are Electrical cables off the ground (on hooks) or along the wall perimeters?

  • Are there any power leads across walkways?

  • Do all power tools have Guards in Place ? (Drop Saws, Angle Grinders)

  • Are Electrical Tools tested and tagged?

  • Are portable power tools in good condition?

Environmental

  • Waste - Are Bins available?

  • Waste - Are Bins emptied regularly ?

  • Noise - Noise levels are kept to approved times?

  • Dust - Vacuums and Misting is used when performing cutting (controlling dust)?

  • Fumes - is adequate ventilation when using chemicals

Ladders + Mobile Scaffold

  • Are ladders in good condition?

  • Is there mobile scaffold on site ?

  • Is mobile scaffold on even ground and setup correctly with internal ladder?

  • Workers use the internal ladder to climb scaffold?

  • Take a photo of Mobile Scaffold

Chemical Safety

  • Is there Hazardous Chemicals on Site ?

  • Are Safety Data Sheets available for all chemicals?

  • Are spill kits or other clean up arrangements available?

  • Confirm there is eye wash in the First Aid Kit

Contractor Inspection

  • Are there Contractors on Site?

  • Name of Contractor Company

  • Contractor is wearing correct PPE

  • Contractor equipment is tested and tagged

  • Is the Contractor following their SWMS ?

Sign Off

  • Name and Signature of Site Supervisor / Foreman / Auditor
