INSPECTION

  • Designated storage areas for flammable materials and gases established on site and locations communicated

  • Designated storage areas provided with adequate natural or mechanical ventilation

  • Emergency response procedures for fire in place and communicated

  • Bulk dispensing areas bunded, sign posted and suitably graded to control drainage of spilled liquids (capacity of the spillage containment must be at least 110% of the volume of the largest package)

  • Flammable liquid bulk dispensers earthed

  • Sufficient number of flammable liquid cupboard(s) are provided to store the total volume of flammable liquids in the work area

  • Spill kit available in areas where flammable goods are stored

  • Adequate number of personnel trained in the basic use of fire fighting equipment

  • Personnel required to handle flammable or combustible liquids understand the means of identifying the liquids and the properties of the specific substance handled, by reference to the relevant SDS
