  • This audit will identify safety concerns in various areas around the xxxx Castlemaine site. If any of this audit requires updating (After an audit, safety gamba ,risk assessment ) then please record in the comments box and discuss in the team meeting.

Central Laboratory

  • It the total volume of corrosives in the storage cabinet less than the maximum allowable of 250 kg?

  • Is the total volume of the flammables cabinet less than the maximum allowable 250L?

  • Are the sds within the corrosives and flammables cupboard ghs compliant, and within expiry date . If not the. Update sds immediately.

  • Is the total volume of flammables and corrosives under laboratory benches less than the maximum allowable of 25 L / kg?

  • Report on the condition of eye wash solutions:

  • Diphoterine station

  • Central lab hallway

  • Central lab near the main sink

  • Is a face shield available near the acid handling fume hood and in the corrosives store?

  • Has the annual radiation safety check been performed for the headspace GC ECD detector?

  • Check that all laboratory equipment has electrical safety tags. Stationary equipment (i.e. PC's, phone chargers, etc) which are plugged into RCD protected outlets do not require tags.

  • Check and comment on the labelling of chemicals, samples and solutions.

  • Report on the condition of the following fire fighting equipment:

  • Central lab office entry (dry chemical, 2 kg)

  • Central lab front entry (dry chemical, 2 kg)

  • Comment on the condition of the safety shower and eye wash stations / solutions.

  • Check that all laboratory equipment has electrical safety tags. Stationary equipment (i.e. PC's, phone chargers, etc) which are plugged into RCD protected outlets do not require tags.
