Exciter Gearbox

  • Visual inspection of exciters while running for any indication of oil leakage<br>NB: Labyrinths will shed grease when exciter is new. DO NOT re-grease Labyrinths. They are replenished by oil from the seals.

  • Check exciter while running for unusual noise.

  • Check and record exciter operating temperature.<br>(30oC above ambient is normal)

Screen Drive and Drive Shafts

  • Check drive Motor Mountings for corrosion, looseness or excessive vibration.

  • Visually inspect Vibrator motor holding down bolts are all in position and secure.

  • Check Vibrator motors while running for unusual noise.<br>Check and record vibrator motor operating temperature.<br>(50oC above ambient is normal)

  • Check Lay Shaft Bearings for unusual noise.<br>Check and record Lay Shaft Bearing temperature.<br>(30oC above ambient is normal)

  • Drive Belts listen for possible breakage or loss of tension.

Isolation Frame

  • Check dampers temp<br>(replace any that are extremely low in temperature or high compared to the rest)

Screen Body

  • With screen running, check pattern of material flow. Bed must be evenly distributed over full width of deck.

  • With screen running, listen for possible loose bolts or unusual noise.

  • Check for unusual motion of screen while operating.

  • Check for material leakage over the side and back of the screen.<br>Check curtains.<br>Check Feed and Discharge chutes for spillage or corrosion.

  • Check for material leakage inside cross beams if applicable, indicates possible loose cleat or cracked cross beam.

  • Check for possible interference between screen body and stationary hoppers, chutes, material build-up and building beams.

  • Check for missing spray bars, leaks and blockages.<br>Check screen deck and side-clamp bars are in position.

Supports

  • Check condition of springs, material build-up around spring, broken springs, rubber grommets.

  • Check spring hangers and bases for corrosion and any visible wear.

  • Check Dust/Splash Curtains
