    NPU Anemometer Reading NPU
  • Guidance notes:
Measurement points should be towards the corners (4 places) and one in the centre of the pre-filter. The measurement should not be directly in front of the strands of the lattice.
The person taking the measurement should stand to the side of the NPU, to minimise airflow disruption and should hold the vane over the various locations. Theses readings should be recorded below

  • NPU Serial number ?

  • The Air flow reading in m3/hr from the DOP Certificate is ?

  • Record Measured velocities in m/s

  • Measure Location 1 ?

  • Measure Location 2 ?

  • Measure Location 3 ?

  • Measure Location 4 ?

  • Measure Location 5 ?

  • Total of the above 5 Locations =

  • Divided / the above Total by 5 = (Total A)

  • Measure filter width from edge of support. Record as a point of a meter e.g. 28cm recorded as 0.28 and then multiple by itself e.g. 0.28 x 0.28 to give squared measurement

  • Measure filter width from edge of support on one side to the other side

  • Multiplied the above measurement (x) by itself = (Total B)

  • Then multiple (x) Total (A) by Total (B) to give you Total (C)

  • Total A x Total B = (Total C)

  • Finally multiple (x) total (C) by 3600 to give m3/hr reading

  • Total C x 3600 = Air flow reading in m3/hr =

  • Have you recorded the Air flow reading in m3/hr within the Plan of work (POW) ?

  • Confirm why this has ent been recorded within the POW ?
