  • Visual check of device – check for any obvious damage or missing parts

  • Battery check – different models have different methods of warning about low battery.

  • Check defibrillator pads are sealed and in-date

  • Check spare defibrillator pads are sealed and in-date

  • Check accessory equipment is present: towel, razor, CPR face shield, scissors, gloves, paperwork (May be inside a nearby first aid kit)

  • Check integrity and security of defibrillator cabinet
