  • All of the below should be mentioned in the contractor's risk assessment & method statement to confirm it is site-specific. If any of the information is missing that should be there, please return the documents to the contractor, and request the information be provided.

    Training records and examination records should be attached to the documentation as evidence they are all compliant.

Method Statement Review

  • Name of composer

  • Signature of composer present

  • Date Method Statement was created

  • Are the names of key personnel included (Operative Names)

  • Named works supervisor

  • Is there a description of the task and is it accurate?

  • Do they advise the duration of the task?

  • Do they list plant and equipment being used

  • Have they provided training records for operators of the plant?

  • Have they provided service and examination records of the plant?

  • Have they listed what substances they will use and store on-site?

  • Have they provided COSHH assessments / Safety Data Sheets for the substances listed?

  • Have they advised the emergency procedures for the site?

  • Have they included a rescue plan (If Required)

  • Have they included contact numbers for high-level personnel (Site supervisor, Project manager, Ect)

  • Do they confirm their housekeeping arrangements?

  • Do they confirm their Storage arrangements? (If not, have you confirmed with them verbally)

Risk Assessment Review

  • Have they identified all hazards? (If you know there are overhead powerlines or other site-specific hazards, have they included these in the risk assessment)

  • Have they included a risk matrix and provided the level of risk for each hazard? (High, medium or low)

  • Are there control measures detailed and adequate to control the risks?

PPE

  • Do the RAMS and supporting documents include what PPE operatives require?

  • Do they include EN Standards?

  • If the RAMS advise RPE is required, have they provided evidence that operatives have been face fit?

Permits

  • Does the work being carried out require a Permit is put in place?

  • If the work does require a permit, it may be worth creating an action and completing it when the permit is opened.

RAMS Acceptance

  • Risk Assessment

  • Reviewed By

  • If RAMS are not acceptable, return to the contactor with notes, and once resubmitted close out any actions raised.
