UPS

  • Perform Visual Inspection on UPS equipment

  • Perform Mechanical/Electrical Inspection to check for loose terminations/damaged cables etc

  • Remove UPS power input supply and check that the output voltage powers required equipment inline with the UPS specification. Record UPS operation time period.

  • Restore UPS input power supply

Lighting & Emergency Lighting

  • Are all lamps and fitting diffusers clean and undamaged?

  • Are all fittings work correctly?

  • Are all system healthy indicators on emergency light fitting battery systems illuminated?

  • Carry out emergency light test and record duration of illumination

  • Return lighting system to normal operation.

LV Electrical Installation

  • Carry out a visual inspection to check for visible damage etc

  • When was the last periodic inspection by an NICEIC approved electrician?

  • Check for signs of water ingress into electrical panels or other equipment

  • Are all electrical signs present and undamaged?

  • Are all earth bond connections intact and connected?

  • When was the last periodic inspection of the earth system by an NICEIC approved electrician?

HV Electrical Installation

  • Carry out a visual inspection to check for visible damage etc

  • When did Becon last carry out the period inspection and maintenance?

  • Is the HV switch room secure to prevent unauthorised access?

  • Are all the HV warning and unauthorised signs in place and intact?

Landscaping

  • Is the landscaping in good upkeep?

  • Is weed control required?

  • Are all pathways and access roads clear?

Boundary Fence & Access Gates

  • Carry out a visual inspection to check for visible damage etc

  • Are all gates unobstructed and able to fully open?

  • Are gates in good working order?

  • Are all locking mechanisms in good working order and free from damage?

Building Facilities and Housekeeping

  • Spill containers available and in proper location?

  • Are the IBC bunds clear of rainwater and are the rain covers in place?

  • Sanitary facilities available and well maintained/cleaned?

  • Walkways clear of debris and excess material?

  • Are any chemicals stored in a safe manner and as per COSHH assessments

  • Has all waste been removed from site and are the waste transfer notes available?

  • Are all flammable liquids stored in a safe area?

Genset Containers

  • Carry out visual inspection of condition/appearance of generators

  • Check for oil and coolant leaks

  • Check lubricating oil level

  • Confirm when the last oil sample was taken and if the report has been received.

  • Check service hours and confirm when the last service was carried out

  • Check for water ingress from outside environment

  • Check condition of electrical panels and confirm that there are no signs of water ingress

  • Overall rating of generator condition

Site Modifications and Records

  • Has the site been modified in anyway

  • Have O & M manuals been amended accordingly?
