Administration/Office

The following questions apply only to the Administration/Office areas within the Depot

  • Are the office desks and chairs in good operational condition?

  • Is there adequate lighting i.e. all lights in working order, no blown light globes and fluro tubes?

  • Is there sufficient storage i.e. no boxes on the floor, in doorways or thoroughfares?

  • Are storage areas stacked appropriately i.e. nothing hanging of shelving, doors of cupboards can be closed properly?

  • Are power cables tagged, tested and current?

  • Are extension cords and power neat, tidy and RCD protected?

  • Is there adequate general rubbish bins i.e. not overflowing?

  • Are power cables tagged, tested and current?

  • Are extension cords and power neat, tidy and RCD protected?

  • Are chemicals and consumables stored correctly i.e. separately?

  • Where a hand dryer is provided, is it in clean and in good working?

  • Are there personal items disguarded inappropriately i.e. not in lockers, on floors?

  • Is there sufficient storage, toilet paper, hand wash, hand towels etc. i.e. no toilet paper on the floor, cleaning products and equipment stored correctly?

Emergency Equipment

Fire

  • Have fire extinguishers been recently serviced?

  • Are emergency procedures clearly displayed?

  • Is there a fire alarm installed or other approved alarms i.e. air-horn?

  • Are fire drills conducted?

  • Is there an emergency kit available and current?

  • Is there a signed Muster Point?

First Aid

  • Are First Aid stations/kits (including eye wash station where a workshop is in place) available and signage in place?

  • Are First Aid kits stocked correctly i.e. no expired products?

  • List of trained First Aiders on display?

Bus Parking/Yard

The following questions apply to the Depot's bus parking, yard and staff parking and facilities

  • Are pedestrian walkways clearly defined/marked and clear of rubbish?

  • Is there adequate lighting at dusk and dawn?

  • Are safety platforms or scaffolding compliant and safe?

  • Does the Depot have a Workshop?

  • Is there adequate lighting i.e. all lights in working order, no blown light globes and fluro tubes?

  • Is the floor area and walkways clean and free of rubbish i.e. rags, parts, oil, grease?

  • Is there adequate general rubbish bins?

  • Is there sufficient storage areas and stacked appropriately i.e. nothing hanging of shelving, doors of cupboards can be closed properly?

  • Are all tools including power tools stored correctly after use?

  • Are power cables tagged, tested and current?

  • Are benches clean and in good operating condition?

  • Air hoses and fittings are stored correctly when not in use?

  • Are extension cords and power neat, tidy and RCD protected?

  • Is there adequate and correct storage for waste products?

  • Is there a Chemical Cabinet in place with correct signage and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) available and current?

  • Are all containers labelled and stored correctly i.e. oil containers bunded?

  • Is there sufficient spill kits available including emergency kit?

  • Is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available i.e. gloves, hearing, eye protection?

  • Does the Workshop have hoists?

  • Have the hoist been check and serviced?
