CRUISE Power Attitude Configuration=Performance

  • CRUISE CLIMB at 25/2500, attitude +4*, clean config = 120 mph

  • Close cowl flaps

  • Open Ram air

  • Reset ATTITUDE indicator to LEVEL flight

  • Cruise power - FULL THROTTLE above 4000 MSL
Select RPM to desired key number
    75% power = key 49 KTAS 150 (173 mph) @ 9.5 gal/h
    65% power = key 46 KTAS 145 (167 mph) @ 9 gal/h

IFR

APPROACH LEVEL/HOLDING

  • 18/2350, attitude +3*, clean config = 105 KIAS/120 mph
ADJUST MP to maintain airspeed, 1"=5 KTS

IFR DESCENT

  • Approaching FAF, reduce MP to 15" (115 mph)

  • On GS INTERCEPT or passing FAF:
LOWER GEAR (will slow to 95 mph)
2 PUMPS FLAPS, hold 90 mph - TRIM, follow GS by adjusting MP 1"=100 fpm
    attitude level, VSI -500 fpm

  • On RUNWAY IN SIGHT
Add FLAPS (reduces speed by 7 Kts, compensate with +1" MP)
TRIM to maintain nearly level and will slow to 70-75 Kts at -500 fpm

IFR MDA LEVEL

  • AT 100' ABOVE MDA, Arrest descent by adding 5" MP to the 13/2350
    To 18/2350, attitude +3*, gear remain down, 90 kts/105 mph, VSI=0

IFR MISSED APPROACH

  • Establish CLIMB POWER 25/2500
    Pitch to +8*
When positive rate of climb, RETRACT GEAR
    Retract FLAPS
Fly MA procedure, IAS 105kts/120mph with VSI +700
