Risk Assessment Awareness

  • Select a random Risk Assessment for an external area of the site prior to commencing audit - this will be used for a later questions

GENERAL

  • If relevant - Have actions from previous audit been closed out?

  • Any 'Environmental' complaints from neighbours or tenants ie noise, lighting or odour complaints

  • Have they been resolved or is action still needed?

  • Have there been any changes to External areas of site (since last audit)?

  • Summarise the changes

  • Does this check sheet need to be updated as a result of changes

  • Are tenant areas clean and tidy (Good Housekeeping)

SITE Security

  • Is vehicular access/egress to site controlled?

  • Are pedestrians sufficiently segregated from vehicles/traffic on site?

  • Are CCTV warning Signs displayed

  • How long are CCTV recordings stored and is access to this information restricted (GDPR)?

SITE EMERGENCY RESPONSE

  • Are external fire assembly points clearly identified?

  • Are fire exit points free from external obstruction?

  • Is there any liquid spill risk externally (including within visible tenant areas)

  • Is appropriate chemical management (safe storage) demonstrated externally ie bunded storage of any liquids etc?

  • Inform responsible manager/tenant and arrange to make area safe

  • Is area now safe?

  • Where is nearest spill kit , is it in a location that can be reached quickly in event of a spill?

  • Do staff know how to contain a spill and clean up safely?

  • Any evidence of spills or contamination around surface water drains or soak away around the site?

  • Any evidence of vehicle washing (pressure washer/chemicals etc) by Tenants around the site?

  • Any evidence of smoking around external areas of the site (for example near doors in the warehouse, front entrance of vehicle barriers ?

Risk and Hazards

  • Using the selected Risk Assessment - are relevant staff aware of this RA?

  • Review the RA with them through discussion of key points

  • Do they consider the assessment of risks to be correct?

  • Do they think any changes to the RA are needed?

  • Leave them a copy of RA and ask them to discuss with H&S representative and inform Office Manager

WASTE Management and Storage

  • Is evidence of good waste management demonstrated ie skips and bins?

  • Are you satisfied that waste streams are being appropriately handled and waste is not being mixed or misused by Tenants?

  • Is external area free from litter?

  • Are pallets stored away from side of building and in a safe manner

  • Is there any evidence of waste being disposed of incorrectly internally ie hazardous waste or electrical waste in waste skips?

SAFETY SIGNS

  • Are suitable and sufficient safety signs visible during site walk round providing information to Ciret staff, visitors/contractors and other tenants? --- For example No smoking, Asbestos area etc

  • Are signs advising ‘no smoking’ site clearly visible to staff, tenants and visitors

AUDIT SUMMARY/COMMENTS

  • Are there any H&S concerns identified during this audit?

  • Record details of any concerns here and identify appropriate actionee

  • Are there any Environmental concerns identified during this audit?

  • Record details of any concerns here and identify appropriate action
