Post and Play event footings are not exposed, cracking or loose

Clamps show no sign of slippage, cracking or failure

Welds are intact and free of cracks

Slide and deck enclosures

Swings, ring trek and track ride cross seams

Arch, curly and pipe climbers

Mounting Blocks

No rust or corrosion

No splintered, cracked or otherwise deteriorated wood

No scratched, chipped, peeling paint or offensive graffiti

Metal parts show no visible cracks, bending, warping or breakage

No missing bolts, nuts, screws ect. and are all of the previous tight

All joints are secure (pay special attention to tunnel slides as well as "S" and "C" ladders

All swivels, bearings, grease fittings and moving parts are well lubricated and not excessively worn (pay special attention to tyre swings, belt swings, track rides and ring treks).

No broken or missing parts (possibly due to vandalism).

No sharp edges or unsafe protrusions (check metal corners, bolts ect.)

No exposed mechanisms, junctions of moving parts, or any components that may pose possible pinch points or crush points

The whole playground area is free of dangerous pest such as spiders or wasps

Plastic is not cut or cracked

All slide supports/anchors are intact and secure

All "S" hooks are closed and not excessively worn

All "S" hooks are closed and not excessively worn

No exposed metal on swing seats

Swing chain is in good condition and not excessively worn, especially at connection point

Connectors and chain have free movement

Seat height no less than 350mm when laden or maximum 550mm above ground level

Edging border is in good condition and there is no weed overgrowth

No root, rocks or other objects are causing a tripping or other hazard

Area is clean of litter (no broken glass or bottles ect.)

Is there safety surfacing under all play items that are over a height of 500mm?

Is there safety surface (mulch/sand) at a minimum depth of 300mm, and to the height as specified on each piece of playground equipment?

Is the safety surface (mulch/sand) loose and friable?
