Mechanical Devices

  • Are all springs and self locking components operational?

  • Are all devices straight and free of any cracks and fractures?

  • Are all pulleys and bearings on the device operational?

  • Has any of the equipment in the above section been exposed to excessive of shock loads beyond the purpose of intended use?

Harness'

  • Is the bridge intact and free of excessive wear, flat spots, glazing, hard spots or sections where 3 consecutive braids have been pulled or cut?

  • Are all webbing straps particularly ones in areas that contact metal hardwear intact and free of excessive wear, glazing? This includes elasticated straps for leg loops.

  • Are all metal clips, buckles, side rings and other hardwear free of cracks and fractures?

  • Are all clips and buckles closing and locking effectively? Lock and test 10 times

  • Has the harness been exposed to excessive of shock loads beyond the purpose of intended use?
