Inspection items

  • Pedestrian paths in parking lot, interior of building and yard are clear of slipping or tripping hazards?

  • Seatbelt's and harnesses are being worn by all employees operating equipment and vehicles?

  • Employees climbing on and off of equipment and vehicles are using a three point stance and checking the area prior to doing so?

  • Are employees working in safe positions? Upright when possible? In danger of falling? Visible to all others?

  • Do you see any employees lifting, pushing or pulling on heavy objects that could result in an injury?

  • Are any employees using tools or equipment correctly? If not, stop and ask why. Don't have the right tool? Learned how to do it this way? Etc.

  • Employees are seen doing a 360 hazard check prior to beginning a task.

  • Is the proper PPE being used by all employees? If not, stop and ask why? Not available? Not right for the job? Forgot? Etc.

  • Does anyone suddenly stop working when you walk by? If so, stop and ask why. Unsure if the task is being performed in the safest manner possible? Taking a shortcut?

  • Does anyone stop you to report a near miss or hazard he/she observed today?
